Kicker.de is reporting that FC Augsburg could stand to profit from PSV Eindhoven's sale of their former player Ricardo Pepi.
Coming off the back of a 16-goal season in 26 games, the USA international is one of the most sought after strikers in Europe.
Apparently the 23-year-old was on the cusp of a €40million move to Fulham FC, but the deal fell through at the last minute.
Now, in addition to the Cottagers from London, another unnamed Premier League side is considering making a bid for him.
Furthermore, a Bundesliga club "that could afford a high transfer fee" is said to be interested in the young marksman.
If a deal is reached, Augsburg would benefit from a transfer due to a sell-on clause, more or less recouping their expenses for Pepi.
PSV had already paid the Bavarian club €11million in 2023, and a summer transfer is expected to add another €5 to €7 million.
