Bayer Leverkusen will look to build on their weekend revival when they host Villarreal in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Thanks to Lucas Vazquez's first-half winner, Die Werkself ended a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Werder Bremen and now aim to secure another positive result to lock in a top-24 finish and qualification for the last 32.

Villarreal, by contrast, are already out of the competition, having taken just one point from seven league-phase games.

The fourth-placed La Liga side are on a three-game losing streak across all competitions following a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend.

In light of the above, the German hosts are heavy favourites to claim all three points on Wednesday and keep their Champions League campaign alive.

Team news and predicted lineups:

Mark Flekken (knee), Edmond Tapsoba (muscle), Eliesse Ben Seghir (ankle) and Nathan Tella (ankle) are unavailable for Leverkusen. Jonas Hofmann and Martin Terrier are not part of their Champions League squad.

Pau Cabanes (knee), Logan Costa (knee), Juan Foyth (Achilles), Willy Kambwala (hamstring) and Santiago Mourino (suspension) are out for the visitors.
