Max Eberl spoke to Sky Germany to discuss PSV Eindhoven CEO Marcel Brands' statement regarding Bayern's interest in Alassane Pléa

"Marcel called me and said ‘we would like to sign Lasso Pléa’. I just expressed my opinion about Pléa.

"That for me, he is an outstanding player who definitely has the level to play for a club like Bayern Munich.

"I didn't want to deny myself the possibility that, if many things hadn't worked out, we could also consider a player like that - but that's a lot of ifs.

“I simply said: With the quality that Alassane Pléa has, he could also play for FC Bayern,” the Bavarians' director of sport said.

Perhaps, the president of the reigning Eredivisie champions took Eberl's comments more direct than the Bayern boss intended them to be.
