Bayern Munich are considering a surprise summer move for Manchester City centre-back John Stones, according to the Daily Mail.

The English outlet reports that, should they decide to step up their interest, the German champions would be in a “strong position” to sign the 31-year-old, who is out of contract this summer.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern are one of several clubs who have been offered Stones ahead of the transfer window.

Should the 31-year-old end up at Bayern, he would be able to link up with England teammate Harry Kane and play under former Manchester City teammate Vincent Kompany.

Bayern have also recently been linked with another Manchester City defender, Josko Gvardiol.
