The 23-year-old is continuing his recovery after suffering another thigh injury, with Bayern hoping he can soon resume his progress towards returning to his best form.
Musiala previously suffered a serious injury at the Club World Cup, which kept him sidelined for an extended period. After returning to action, the Germany international gradually began working his way back to full fitness before another setback interrupted his progress.
Despite the latest setback, Bayern remain confident that Musiala can rediscover the form that established him as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents.
Speaking to BILD, Hainer reflected on the midfielder’s potential and the hopes surrounding his recovery.
“I think the whole country hopes that Jamal will reach the level he was at before his serious injury at the Club World Cup. He was well on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world,” Hainer explained.
Questions have also been raised about Musiala’s health beyond his recent injury problems. However, Hainer sought to reassure supporters, stressing that the medical assessments have given the club confidence in the midfielder’s ability to continue playing at the highest level.
“We are aware of Jamal’s situation. The specialists have assured us that Jamal can play football at the highest level despite this illness,” the Bayern president clarified.
Hainer also pointed to Musiala’s performances before the latest setback as evidence that he was moving in the right direction.
“We saw before the international break that Jamal was well on his way to becoming the old Jamal again. We are not worried.”
Nevertheless, Bayern will need to remain patient as Musiala continues his recovery, with his return still some way off despite the club’s confidence in his long-term prospects.
