Zinedine Zidane has made a successful start to his tenure as France head coach, winning three of his first four matches in the UEFA Nations League.
Those victories have been helped in no small part by Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise, who once again proved to be a difference-maker on Monday night.
After being rested from the start, Olise was brought on after an hour with France trailing 1-0. He provided an assist before later scoring twice himself to help his side to a 4-1 victory.
Having racked up four goals and two assists in four games under Zidane, Olise believes the French team is about much more than just himself and says he is enjoying playing under the former Real Madrid star.
"It's a collective effort, too," Olise said after Monday’s 4-1 victory over Belgium, according to ESPN.
"He [Zidane] brings in ideas, we follow them – we've done that well over the last four matches, we're going to continue like this."
Some of the fans were chanting “Olise Ballon d'Or” during the game, but true to his naturally shy and reserved nature in interviews, the Bayern Munich star simply brushed off the chants.
“I have nothing to say,” he responded with a smile in an interview with Téléfoot.
