FC Copenhagen confirm negotiations for club boss amid Wolfsburg links

Amid reports linking FC Copenhagen boss Peter Christiansen to Wolfsburg, the Danish capital club have confirmed that negotiations are underway with a foreign club.

VfL Wolfsburg appear to be closing in on a replacement for Marcel Schäfer, who left his post as managing director for sport in April.

Reports emerged on Tuesday that ‘Die Wölfe’ had entered into talks with FC Copenhagen over a deal to hire the Danish club's sporting director, Peter Christiansen.

And FC Copenhagen, without mentioning VfL Wolfsburg by name, have now confirmed that they're in talks with a foreign club about Christiansen.

“FC. Copenhagen have received an inquiry from a foreign club regarding the possible employment of sporting director Peter Christiansen,” FC Copenhagen said in a statement on Wednesday morning.

“The dialogue has not been completed and no agreements have been made between the parties FCK have no further comment at this time, but there will be an announcement from the club when there is a clarification.”

Christiansen, 49, has been FC Copenhagen's sporting director since April 2021, when he made the switch to the capital from Aarhus GF.
