Demichelis gives Gruda injury update and offers verdict on Leverkusen defeat

Following a crushing 5-0 victory over Hamburger SV, RB Leipzig were brought back down to earth on Sunday, as Martin Demichelis' team fell to a 2-0 Bundesliga defeat away to Bayer Leverkusen.
Brajan Gruda had to come off with an injury in the first half, making the game extra bitter for RB Leipzig and putting the attacker's involvement with Germany during the international break in doubt.
Further examinations will determine whether Gruda has suffered any structural damage, but Demichelis offered some initial reassurance at his post-match press conference.
“Brajan took a knock to the pelvis. We didn't want to take any risks. I don't think it's a serious injury,” he said.
As for the performance, Demichelis felt that the “small details” went against his side.
“In my opinion, we played very dominantly in the first half. In the end, it came down to small details. I think we can be satisfied with the first half,” the Leipzig head coach told ARD.
“The whole group feels that we are only losing because of small details. We have to be honest with each other and fight. There is only one way forward.”
The defeat has left RB Leipzig ninth in the Bundesliga table heading into the international break.
