“Done Deal”: Argentine defender Facundo Medina set to join Leverkusen

Sky Sports report Facundo Medina is on his way to Bayer Leverkusen as the Bundesliga club reached a total agreement in principle with Olympique de Marseille. The Ligue 1 outfit are currently in crisis with more departures expected after financial issues arising from years of mismanagement.
According to Sky, the transfer fee will only be €20 million for the World Cup finalist. Medina will sign a deal until 2031 after completing a mandatory medical check in Leverkusen.
The 27-year-old has only permanently joined Marseille this summer after his initial loan from fellow French side RC Lens. The Argentine could play either as a center-back or left-back as he showed throughout the recently concluded World Cup.
Die Werkself have moved on from one of their best players of the last three seasons with Alejandro Grimaldo’s transfer to Atletico Madrid, but they already signed designated left-back or left wingback Miguel Gutiérrez. The former Napoli defender provided an assist to Patrik Schick in his debut against Sevilla today.
