According to information from Sport BILD, Borussia Dortmund's management intends to offer Emre Can a new one-year contract.

Sporting directors Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl reportedly plan to hold concrete negotiations with Can after his knee surgery.

Much to the 32-year-old's disappointment, he suffered a season-ending cruciate ligament tear against Bayern Munich last Saturday

However, should BVB put a new one-year deal of the table, the versatile defender will likely have to settle for reduced wages.

Kehl said after the injury that: “Emre will receive all our support in the coming months so that he can make a full recovery.”

Now, it appears the Dortmund bosses in charge apparently want to follow up their words with action as soon as possible.
