Borussia Dortmund is eagerly hoping to finalize the transfer of Said El Mala from 1.FC Köln some time this coming weekend.

This new timeline, reported by the Express, has replaced the original plan to present El Mala at the start of this week which never happened.

Borussia Dortmund has been steadily approaching Köln's rumoured asking price of €50million in recent weeks.

BVB have now offered a base fee of €48million plus €2million in easily achievable bonuses, while a further €5million could be added as a supplementary payment.

A key sticking point is the issue of the sell-on clause – Köln would like to receive ten percent of any future transfer fee for El Mala.

However, Dortmund is only offering ten percent of any transfer profit. As of Tuesday midday, no formal offer has yet been received in Köln.

This next step is expected shortly, with BVB hoping to make a breakthrough in the negotiations for El Mala.

If Dortmund fails to sign the 19-year-old left winger, they will soon turn to a Plan B in the transfer market.

Among the alternatives, Jadon Sancho, Ethan Nwaneri,  Ibrahim Mbaye, Giannis Konstantelias and Yeremay Hernández are on the shortlist.
