Luis Díaz thought he had ended his scoring drought in Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw with Augsburg on Saturday, only for his effort to be ruled out after Josip Stanišić was deemed offside in the build-up.

The Colombian has now gone six consecutive matches without a goal or assist, but Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl is confident the attacker will soon rediscover his form.

“We would have been very pleased if the goal had stood, because it simply would have done him good,” Eberl told Bild ahead of Bayern’s Champions League away clash with Norwegian side Viking FK on Tuesday.

“He’ll come good again. You can see his movement; he’s involved in the game and keeps making things happen. I think he is definitely on an upward trajectory,” he added.

The 29-year-old scored 26 goals and provided 23 assists in 51 games for FC Bayern last season.
