As confirmed by the French national team this morning, Dayot Upamecano is returning to FC Bayern Munich early than planned.

The 27-year-old left the national team camp at 9:30a.m. this Saturday due to his red card against Italy last night.

Upamecano received his second yellow card for a tussle with Moise Kean shortly before the end of their 1-1 draw against the Azzurri.

The red card means the defender will miss Monday's Nations League match against Belgium due to suspension.

Upamecano was rested by coach Zinedine Zidane in the first leg against the Red Devils, but but featured against both Türkiye and Italy.

Vincent Kompany will probably be happy to see the centre-half back early and unscathed ahead of a busy schedule for the Bavarians.
