Portuguese side Braga are through to the Europa League semi-final to set up a clash with SC Freiburg. Carlos Vicens’ side only drew the first leg 1-1 at home, but they reversed an early two-goal deficit away from home to win 4-2 at La Cartuja.

Former Hoffenheim midfielder Florian Grillitsch scored their goal in the home leg. Germany defender Bright Arrey-Mbi and Rodrigo Zalazar, who has played for three German clubs, are also in the ranks of the side from Liga Portugal.

Since Celta Vigo eliminated league phase winners Lyon in the previous round, Freiburg now inherit the home advantage for the return leg. Premier League sides and former European Cup winners Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa will contest in the other semi-final.

This season’s Europa League final will be played at Beşiktaş Stadium in Istanbul on May 20th.
