Germany call up replacement for injured Musiala

Jamie Leweling has been handed his first Germany call-up as a replacement for the injured Jamal Musiala.

 

Bayern Munich announced on Friday that Jamal Musiala has been ruled out with a hip problem.

The youngster will miss Germany's games against Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Netherlands this month, forcing coach Julian Nagelsmann to call up a replacement.

Stuttgart's Jamie Leweling has been confirmed as Musiala's replacement, earning his first Germany call-up.

Leweling has been in excellent form for Stuttgart this season, starting all but one of their games, scoring one goal and providing two assists in nine appearances.

He has represented Germany at U-19, U-20 and U-21 level. He has 11 caps for the U21s, scoring once.
