With just one year remaining on his contract at Borussia Mönchengladbach, Nico Elvedi could potentially be on the move this summer.

The 29-year-old defender has long been linked with a move to England, with recent reports suggesting that Leeds United are considering a move for the Switzerland international.

Asked about the future of Elvedi, who was knocked out of the World Cup quarter-finals with Switzerland by Argentina, Gladbach sporting director Rouven Schröder revealed the club would be willing to consider offers for the defender.

“Nico Elvedi played an outstanding World Cup. If offers come in, we will look at those offers and weigh up our options,” Schröder said, according to Rheinische Post.

Generally, Schröder believes the transfer market could accelerate once the World Cup is over.

“The market has not really started moving yet. I’m curious to see what it looks like once the World Cup final is over.”
