Gnabry absent for Germany's clash with Greece for workload reasons

The 31-year-old, not long back from a notable injury, has been given a rest after featuring in all three of Germany's Nations League games to date.

Serge Gnabry has seemingly departed the Germany national team squad for reasons regarding workload management.

Gnabry, who captained the DFB-elf for the first time in last night's 2-0 win over Serbia, featured in all three games thus far.

Despite only playing a combined 25 minutes against the Netherlands and Greece, Jürgen Klopp is taking a cautious approach.

However, the versatile attacker has not encountered a setback, which will be a relief to both Bayern Munich and Vincent Kompany.

The 31-year-old suffered an adductor injury in April which forced him to miss the 2026 World Cup and has only just made a return to fitness.

With Jamal Musiala picking up a muscle tear last week, Gnabry will likely return to Bayern Munich and provide additional cover.

Meanwhile, newcomer Felix Keidel from SV Elversberg will take Gnabry's place in the squad who have landed in Thessaloniki, Greece.
