Bayern Munich welcomed Harry Kane back to team training on Monday ahead of their Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Tuesday.

The England captain had picked up an ankle injury during the international break and missed Saturday’s 3-2 win over SC Freiburg as a result.

However, Kane looks set to return against Real Madrid, with Sky Germany reporting cautious optimism that the 32-year-old could start the game.

Over the weekend, head coach Vincent Kompany and sporting board member Max Eberl expressed confidence that Kane would be fit for the game.

With the exception of third-choice goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, all senior players took part in the training session on Monday.

The game at the Santiago Bernabéu kicks off on Tuesday at 21:00 CET.
