Bayern Munich star Harry Kane made history on Saturday as he earned his 120th England cap in their 2-1 extra-time World Cup quarter-final victory over Norway.
The milestone saw Kane become England’s joint-most capped outfield player, moving level with former Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney, who retired from international football in 2018.
If Kane features as expected against Argentina in Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final, he will make his 121st appearance for his country and surpass Rooney’s record.
The England captain is also closing in on the all-time appearance record held by goalkeeper Peter Shilton, who represented his country 125 times.
