After VfB Stuttgart’s 5-0 win over amateur side FSV Hollenbach, Sebastian Hoeneß commented on the recent rumors linking Ermedin Demirović to a summer exit. According to reports, the head coach was in favor of selling the striker, with the 44-year-old now deeming them to be baseless.
“I was irritated and, honestly, also annoyed about some of what was discussed in the media. My goal is always to have the best players at Stuttgart.” responded Hoeneß as Stuttgart continued their preparation for the upcoming season with a big win.
Tiago Tomas opened the scoring for Stuttgart against the sixth-tier club before Fabian Bredlow made a strong save as he started between the posts in place of the injured Dennis Seimen. Chris Führich scored the second goal of the game before the half-time break.
Maximilian Mittelstädt, Jovan Milosevic and Nikolas Nartey added further goals to the scoreline after the break. Summer signing Grischa Prömel played the first-half, while Demirović and fellow World Cup participants are still absent.
