Bayern Munich have yet to reveal a diagnosis for Vincent Kompany after the head coach suddenly collapsed at the training ground last week and was taken to hospital, where he's in stable condition.

Kompany’s assistant Aaron Danks provided a positive update on the 40-year-old at a press conference on Tuesday, saying:

“I popped in to see Vincent briefly yesterday; he’s in good spirits. It looks as though things are improving day by day.

"There’s no definitive prognosis. He’s very calm and is being given plenty of time to recover. We had some good chats, but they had nothing to do with football or tactics. He asked how we were getting on.”

According to Sport Bild, doctors are currently focusing their investigations on a possible problem involving the head or brain, as seizures can be caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain and may involve involuntary muscle twitching or spasms.

Despite the seriousness of the incident, it's not believed to have been life-threatening.

Meanwhile, Absolut Bayern reports that the 40-year-old is believed to have dislocated his shoulder when he collapsed at the training ground.

The report further claims that the Belgian coach had been suffering from severe headaches before his collapse and had already recognised that his workload had become excessive.

Accordingly, Kompany had begun making changes to his lifestyle, including making changes to his sleep schedule, which had been affected by late-night video analysis.

How much longer assistant coach Danks will have to fill in for Kompany on the touchline remains unclear.

According to Sport Bild, the club currently considers a return for the upcoming matches against Borussia Dortmund on 31 October, Atlético Madrid on 3 November and against Mainz on 7 November unlikely.

The international break follows, with Bayern’s campaign then resuming against 1. FC Köln on 20 November.

FC Bayern’s immediate focus, however, is on Wednesday night’s DFB-Pokal clash with 1. FC Magdeburg.
