18-year-old winger Tidiam Gomis has been unveiled as a new RB Leipzig player.

The French youth international joins Leipzig from Ligue 2 outfit SM Caen on a long-term contract until 2029.

“We are delighted that we have been able to convince Tidiam of our approach at RB Leipzig, despite stiff competition from abroad. We have been working on this transfer for months and after reaching an agreement with him, have decided to bring him to Leipzig this winter already. It gives us an additional option in attack and will also provide Tidiam with the time to settle in,” said RB Leipzig board member for sport Marcel Schäfer.

“Our fans can look forward to a quick and skillful winger who can feature in a variety of positions in attack. Despite his young age, he has already been able to collect experience playing at the professional level and is a key figure within the France U19s. He's a very exciting player and we have high hopes for him.”

Gomis said he's “very happy” to be joining RB Leipzig.

“The club have a great reputation internationally, and particularly in France, and they offer young players the chance to play regularly, improve their skills and be successful,” said Gomis.

"I'm looking forward to training together with many talented players and to being able to experience the Red Bull Arena for the first time this weekend. At the same time, I'm extremely grateful to Caen for providing me with my first experiences of professional football and wish the club nothing but the best for the future!"
