Liverpool and Atletico Madrid are interested in RB Leipzig's Mohamed Simakan, according to Sky Germany.

However, so far there is neither a concrete offer nor negotiations with the player from either club, the report claims.

Simakan has a release clause of €70 million, but a fee in the region of €40-45 million would likely be enough to prize him away from Die Roten Bullen.

Although the 24-year-old centre-back wasn't a regular starter last season, he feels at home in Leipzig and is in no rush to leave, according to Sky.

Simakan joined Leipzig from Racing Strasbourg in 2021 for a reported fee of €15 million.

Since then, he has made 120 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists.
