RB Leipzig wants to clarify the contract situations of both Xaver Schlager and Peter Gulácsi by the end of the year.

According to Sky Germany, Leipzig wants to extend Schlager's contract and is waiting for the player to return from a muscle injury.

With Gulácsi, who is open to extending his contract, it remains to be seen if the Hungarian will be kept as first choice goalkeeper.

Questions hang over Leipzig – do they push ahead with the squad's rejuvenation process in goal or offer Gulácsi a new deal.

No intensive discussions are underway, but if Maarten Vandevoordt isn't the starting shot-stopper next season, he's gone.

Another campaign playing a back-up role on the bench is not an option for the Belgian youngster who wants to develop further.
