Former Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané was involved in a scuffle in a wine tent at the Oktoberfest celebrations late on Sunday night, according to Bild.

Sané, who left Bayern to join Galatasaray over the summer, confirmed his involvement in the incident.

“I was provoked and personally insulted over an extended period in the festival tent my club Galatasaray was also insulted,” Sané told Bild.

“In the heated atmosphere, I was pushed and there was a brief scuffle. Of course, I should have stayed calmer and ignored it that’s what I take away from this.”

According to Bild, other visitors in the tent repeatedly shouted mocking comments about Sané’s move from Bayern to Galatasaray.

Sané initially remained calm, but eventually confronted the table after the provocations continued.

An eyewitness told Bild that a brief scuffle broke out before security intervened and quickly restored order.

“There was a small security incident on the gallery on Sunday evening, but the security staff managed it and resolved the situation peacefully. No police were needed,” confirmed Christine da Silva, spokesperson for the Kuffler Group, which operates the tent where the incident occurred.
