Bayer Leverkusen is bringing center-back Tim Oermann back from Sturm Graz early, the Rhineland club has announced.
The 22-year-old joined the Werkself from VfL Bochum in the summer for €2million and was immediately loaned to gain playing experience.
There, he became a regular starter in the first half of the season and has been recalled after Leverkusen were satisfied with his progress.
"Tim Oermann has developed into an absolutely key player at Sturm Graz in a very short time and has also gained valuable international experience in the Europa League," explained sporting director Simon Rolfes.
Oermann himself explained that he was somewhat surprised to be leaving the Austrian Bundesliga side so soon:
“I had prepared myself for a full year in Austria and was very happy with my standing in Graz. The fact that Bayer 04 is now bringing me in much earlier than originally planned shows me that I'm on the right track. All my energy and my heart now belong to the Werkself.”
