According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, newly promoted Premier League side Ipswich Town are making a strong push to sign Exequiel Palacios. The Tractor Boys have reportedly now submitted an official offer to Bayer Leverkusen for the Argentine midfielder.

Romano has not revealed the exact details of the proposal. However, he reports that four other clubs have also shown concrete interest in Palacios, with the World Cup runner-up now seemingly on the verge of leaving Leverkusen.

A transfer fee of around €40 million has been discussed in recent weeks as a potential benchmark for a deal. Palacios is also understood to have accepted a pay cut of approximately 25 percent this summer after Leverkusen failed to qualify for the Champions League.
