VfB Stuttgart and Deniz Undav have opened talks over a contract extension beyond 2027, but negotiations are expected to be challenging due to the striker’s wage demands, according to Sky Germany.

The report claims that the German international is seeking around €6 million per year – more than any Stuttgart player has ever earned.

This raises doubts over whether the two sides can reach an agreement, with top clubs from Germany and abroad reportedly monitoring the situation.

Bayer Leverkusen are said to be among the clubs that have expressed interest in the 29-year-old forward, whose current contract runs until the summer of 2027.

Undav has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 23 goals and registering 13 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for Stuttgart.
