Bayer Leverkusen talent Axel Tape, according to Sky Germany and RMC Sport, will join UD Levante on loan for this season.

A loan without a purchase option and without an obligation to buy has been agreed upon by the Rhineland outfit and Levante.

The Frenchman is expected to play in midfield for the Spanish first-division club, despite his strengths lying in defense.

Despite being able to play both centrally and on the right side, the 19-year-old is seen as surplus to requirements in Leverkusen.

Furthermore, the impending arrival of Guela Doué from Racing Strasbourg adds further competition for Tape.

Therefore, space under new head coach Carles Martinez will be too limited for the Frenchman. The loan moves comes at the right time.
