Based on Sky Germany's latest update, Liverpool have entered the race “very concretely” for wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn.

Transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that talks have already taken place, as sources from England have also confirmed.

The 16-year-old talent is planning to leave Hertha BSC in the summer with his release clause worth around €10-12million.

However, given his young age, the defensive midfielder will not be able to move to Merseyside until he is 18.

Liverpool's interest in the German prodigy could come as a blow for the likes of Bayern Munich who have expressed interest in recent weeks

Despite missing a chunk of the 2.Bundesliga season with an ankle injury, Eichhorn managed to play 17 games and score a solitary goal.
