Multiple major European clubs are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund and United States youngster Mathis Albert, according to Goal.com.

Manchester City are understood to be among the clubs interested, with the report claiming that the Premier League giants made an offer to sign the teenager over the summer.

However, Dortmund rejected City's advances, with the 17-year-old remaining firmly part of the German club's plans.

Bild previously reported that several clubs were prepared to pay up to €15 million to secure Albert's signature during the summer transfer window.

Albert has made one appearance for Dortmund's first team so far this season, playing the full 90 minutes in their 5-0 DFB-Pokal victory over HEBC Hamburg.

The teenager made his debut for the United States during the recent international break, featuring in all four of the team's matches and racking up a goal and an assist.
