Bayer Leverkusen's field of options to replace Alejandro Grimaldo may be starting to narrow down, according to FußballTransfer.com.

Facundo Medina, who can play both left-back and in central defence, would like to join the Rhineland club this summer.

This information comes only days after Leverkusen were first linked with the 27-year-old native of Buenos Aires.

Regarding his club football situation, the Argentinian World Cup player is still under contract with Olympique Marseille until 2030.

After a previous loan spell at RC Lens, a purchase obligation of €18million was triggered on 1 July, 2026.

Besides Medina, Miguel Gutiérrez from SSC Napoli is also considered a candidate for the left-back position in Leverkusen.
