SC Freiburg have confirmed a contract extension for their second-choice goalkeeper, Florian Müller.

The Bundesliga outfit announced the new deal for the 28-year-old on Tuesday without disclosing the length of it.

“Flo is first and foremost a very good goalkeeper. When a player also brings his character traits to the goalkeeper trio and the entire team as he does, it’s nearly perfect,” said Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach.

“We are very pleased about the extension with Flo, knowing we can always rely on him.”

Müller, who has made 47 appearances for the Breisgau outfit so far, commented:

“We work well together as a team here, without me losing sight of my personal goals and ambitions. I also feel very comfortable at the club and in the city. I want to continue contributing my part so that we can be successful as a team.”
