Julian Nagelsmann's Germany side face Cote d'Ivoire in their second match in the 2026 World Cup.

Before Germany's first game however, Thomas Müller and Jürgen Klopp have made the headlines over things they said about Germany and Julian Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann therfore felt the need to use the time to react and brush aside external distractions, including those recent comments from Jürgen Klopp:

"I did not expect an apology from Jürgen Klopp for his comments, but he apologized and that's it for me. As some of my players have already said, I also don't listen to everybody talking about our team. That's not possible and not healthy."

Klopp has jokingly commented on Julian Nagelsmann DFB career after the World Cup and also questioned whether Jamal Musiala should start for Germany in the first game. Since then, he apologized to Nagelsmann and both talked calmly and politely about the situation.
