Just over three months into his tenure as RB Leipzig coach, pressure is already growing on Martin Demichelis.

While the club's hierarchy continues to back Demichelis heading into the October fixtures, he is under close scrutiny, according to Sky Germany.

Should Die Roten Bullen eventually lose patience with the former centre-back, the German broadcaster suggests that Julian Nagelsmann could be brought back to replace him.

According to the report, one or two decision-makers are already – or still – thinking about the 39-year-old, who led Leipzig to the Champions League semi-finals and a second-place finish in the Bundesliga before leaving for Bayern Munich in 2021.

Whether Nagelsmann himself would be interested in a return to Leipzig following his spell as Germany coach is unclear, with the German coach having previously been linked with Premier League clubs.

For now, however, Demichelis will be given time to implement his ideas, with the upcoming October fixtures likely to prove crucial in determining his future at the club.
