Leon Bailey could leave Leverkusen in the winter

Leon Bailey will consider leaving Bayer Leverkusen in the winter if his playing time doesn't improve according to a source close to the player.
After making an impressive Bundesliga breakthrough last season, Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey has seen his playing time limited lately.

And if Bailey's situation at the club doesn't improve, he will consider leaving 'Die Werkself' in January, a source close to the player tells ESPN.

According to the source, it will "be considered whatever is in the best interest of the player, and in this case it may not be to remain at Leverkusen under these circumstances".

"Leon is 21 now, with aspirations of being one of the world's top players. He can't do so from the bench in Leverkusen," the source added.

Bailey just signed a new contract until 2023 with the club in August. The 21-year-old has made 13 appearances for Leverkusen this season - seven of them in the starting eleven - scoring once.

The Jamaican winger was linked with Liverpool and Chelsea among other clubs last summer.
