RB Leipzig's Timo Werner is in great demand and has been linked with clubs as Bayern München, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool.

The 22-year-old's contract runs until 2020 and is likely to be on the move next summer if he doesn't extend his deal with 'Die Roten Bullen'. So what will he do?

Option 1: Joining another German club
Sport Bild reported yesterday that RB Leipzig are expecting Borussia Dortmund to make a bid for Werner.

However, according to Sport1, Werner isn't interested in a move to Borussia Dortmund and sees Bayern München as his only possible destination within Germany.

Despite Bayern's current crisis, Werner believes a move to Bavaria would give him the best chance of winning the Bundesliga, and he sees it as a logical step from RB Leipzig.

Option 2: Going abroad
Werner could also be joining a foreign club. According to Sport1, the 22-year-old is mainly attracted to the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga while he sees the Italian Serie A and the French Ligue 1 as less interesting options.

Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are all among Werner's English suitors, and the latter of three may have a small advantage as the striker has previously admitted he has a soft spot for 'The Red Devils'.

With regard to Werner's Spanish suitors, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona have reportedly all shown an interest in him.

Option 3: Staying at RB Leipzig
However, there is also a real possibility that Werner will stay at RB Leipzig. Back in August, the German international said he can imagine staying until 2020 at least - partly because that would give him the chance to play under Julian Nagelsmann who will take over as RB Leipzig coach before next season.

"If I'm not sold prematurely or kicked out, it would be appealing to work with him for a few more years," Werner told Kicker in August.

RB Leipzig sporting director and head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that he's working to extend Werner's contract, but the negotiations have dragged on for almost a year. 'Die Roten Bullen' would happily extend Werner's contract, "but it's also a financial matter," Rangnick recently told Bild.

It seems unlikely that RB Leipzig will keep Werner beyond next summer if he doesn't sign a new deal. In that case, with the striker's contract running out in 2020, the club probably want to cash in on him.

Werner joined RB Leipzig from VfB Stuttgart in 2016. Since then, he has made 91 appearances for the club, scoring 50 goals.
