De Zerbi will not be the new Bayern coach

Despite the announcement that Roberto De Zerbi will be leaving his position as Brighton & Hove Albion manager, he will not be taking over as Bayern Munich coach.

Fuel was added to the fire linking Roberto De Zerbi with Bayern Munich when it was announced on Saturday that the Italian coach will leave Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of the season. However, it's now clear that he won't be replacing Thomas Tuchel.

According to Sky Germany, all parties have confirmed that De Zerbi won't be taking over.

Speaking to ZDF on Saturday, Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl also categorically ruled out the 44-year-old's arrival.

Asked if he could vehemently reject the suggestion that the new coach be Italian, Eberl replied with a resounding “Yes!”

With Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, Oliver Glasner and Thomas Tuchel all ruled out, it remains to be seen who will take over the reins.
