Stuttgart boss still hopes Guirassy will stay: "We are not chanceless"
VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy rounded off a spectacular season in style on Saturday, scoring a brace in his side's 4-0 win over Gladbach to take his league goal tally for the season to 28.
Given Guirassy's performances this season, it's no surprise that he is being linked with bigger clubs, with Borussia Dortmund among those thought to be keen on signing the 28-year-old.
Stuttgart's hopes of keeping hold of Guirassy will not be helped by the reported €17.5 million release clause in his contract, but sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth still believes there's a real chance the Guinea international will stay at the club.
"We are not chanceless," he told reporters in a post-match interview after Saturday's 4-0 win over Gladbach.
"But after today's performance, the desire to sign him probably won't diminish," he admitted, hailing Guirassy's "special performance" against Gladbach.
