Borussia Möchengladbach sporting director Roland Virkus has confirmed that the club want to bring in a striker.

"We need a flexible player, who is fast, and who runs in behind," Virkus admitted in an interview with Kicker.

Stade Brest's Franck Honorat, one of the players Gladbach have been linked with in recent weeks, fits the description. Virkus, however, did not want to comment on concrete names.

"We are dealing with some candidates," he said and emphasized:

"We don't want a quick fix. It has to fit."

Marcus Thuram has started up front in all three of Gladbach's competitive games this season and scored five goals.

Unfortunately for Gladbach, Thuram's deal expires at the end of the season, but despite the Frenchman's uncertain contract situation, 'Die Fohlen' would only let him go for a "top offer".
