Report: Julian Weigl on the verge of joining Gladbach
Per Sky Sports, Benfica midfielder Julian Weigl is returning to Germany with a loan move to Gladbach.
Daniel Farke has his man, as it's reported by Sky Sports Germany that Julian Weigl is heading to Gladbach. The Benfica defensive midfielder will sign a loan agreement in his return to the Bundesliga. A medical check is already scheduled for Thursday.
The 26-year-old played for 1860 Munich and Dortmund before moving to Portugal in 2020. He's fallen out of favor in Benfica's side and Gladbach have been after his signature for weeks. If all goes to plan, Weigl could even be in the squad to face Mainz on Sunday.
