Adeyemi, Wirtz and Moukoko among gold Fritz-Walter-Medal winners

Karim Adeyemi, Florian Wirtz and Youssoufa Moukoko are among the gold Fritz-Walter-Medal winners announced by the DFB.

The German Football Association (DFB) has announced the winners of the 2021 and 2022 Fritz Walter Medals given to the country's most promising young talent.


Due to the corona pandemic, the DFB decided not to award the medals in 2021, instead opting to hand out last year's medals now.

Male players:

Age group 2002, U/19 players 2021:
Gold: Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund)
Silver: Ansgar Knauff (Eintracht Frankfurt)
Bronze: Noah Atubolu (SC Freiburg)

Age group 2003, U/19 players 2022:
Gold: Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)
Silver: Luca Netz (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Bronze: Robert Wagner (SC Freiburg)


Age group 2004, U/17 players 2021:
Gold: Youssoufa Moukoko (Borussia Dortmund)
Silver: Linus Gechter (Hertha BSC Berlin)
Bronze: Anton Kade (FC Basel)

Age group 2005, U/17 players 2022:
Gold: Nelson Weiper (FSV Mainz 05)
Silver: Laurin Ulrich (VfB Stuttgart)
Bronze: Tarek Buchmann (FC Bayern Munich)

Female players:

Age group 2002, U/19 players 2021:
Gold: Jule Brand (VfL Wolfsburg)
Silver: Julia Kassen (VfL Wolfsburg)
