Confirmed: Leverkusen send Pentz to Danish goalkeeping workshop

Bayer 04 Leverkusen have confirmed the loan-out of back-up keeper Patrick Pentz to the same Danish outfit that developed current #1 Lukas Hradecky, Union Berlin's Frederik Rønnow, and Köln's Marvin Schwäbe.
Austrian keeper Patrick Pentz's loan-out to Copenhagen's Brøndby IF is officially confirmed. The four-times-capped Austrian international will spend the season up north whilst the newly acquired Matej Cover takes over as Leverkusen's #2 Lukas Hradecky. Pentz is headed to the same club at which Hradecky himself developed into a starter. Köln's Marvin Schwäbe and Union Berlin's Frederik Røonnow also gained playing practice at the Danish club.

"Brøndby has a very good reputation and is also known for developing strong goalkeepers," Pentz noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "When I heard about Brøndby's interest, it was clear to me that it was absolutely the right move."

"Patrick is in his prime as a professional," Leverkusen managing director Simon Rolfes added with respect to the 26-year-old, "and we can well understand his desire for more stints as a number one."
