Füllkrug plays down talk of Dortmund crisis

Borussia Dortmund are not in crisis despite a disappointing start to the season, according to Niclas Füllkrug.
Niclas Füllkrug has dismissed suggestions that Borussia Dortmund are in crisis after taking five points from their opening Bundesliga games against FC Köln, VfL Bochum and Heidenheim.

"For me, this is not a crisis," Füllkrug told the German media upon his arrival at the German national team camp in Wolfsburg.

"There is an incredible amount of quality here. That's why I'm not so skeptical," added the striker, who recently joined Dortmund from Werder Bremen.

"We are still unbeaten. Of course, you would have expected something different from the opening schedule. Unfortunately, we had a bit of a dip at the start.

The German Football Association (DFB) announced yesterday that Thomas Müller has been called up to cover for Füllkrug, with the Dortmund striker struggling with injury.

Germany coach Hansi Flick confirmed this morning that Füllkrug will not be involved in the upcoming games against Japan and France. He will leave the team camp on Thursday.
