Report: Freiburg and others keep tabs on Bochum's Osterhage

Bochum's "Tief im Westen" fan-magazine links currently surging German youth international Patrick Osterhage with a move to several unnamed clubs during the coming winter transfer window. The Bochum-based publication lists one specific top tier club as a potential destination for the 23-year-old.
A recent form surge from VfL Bochum midfielder Patrick Osterhage led to his name garnering quite a bit of recognition in German footballing circles. After the 23-year-old scored a fine goal in his team's recent upset of Wolfsburg, Osterhage even earned team-of-the-week honors in many German footballing publications. Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker Magazine, rated Osterhage as the top-player on match-day 13.

It certainly stands to reason that many other top-tier Bundesliga sides may be interested in procuring Osterhage's services over the coming winter transfer window. Bochum's "Tief im Westen" fan-magazine claims that, among several unnamed others, SC Freiburg may be interested in plucking the Germany U21 international from the Revierklub.

Freiburg are known to be seeking an economical solution to the often-mistake-prone midfield duo of Nicolas Höfler and Maximilian Eggestein. With an estimated market worth of €4 million in the latest transfermarkt update, however, Osterhage may still constitute too expensive an option in the January window. The player remains under contract with his current club through 2026.
