Salomon Kalou not satisfied with bench role
Salomon Kalou says he might have to leave Hertha BSC in the search for more first-team action.
Salomon Kalou has watched Hertha's last three games from the bench and admits he's not satisfied with his current substitute role.
"I hope I'll get to play a few more games for Hertha. But in football, there's no guarantee of anything. I want to enjoy my last years in football. To do so, I need to play," Kalou told Bild and added:
"If that's not possible here, I may have to go somewhere else. For me, it's out of the question to sit on the bench permanently.
"I have to wait for the right moment and show that I have the potential to help the team. But I can only help when I'm on the pitch. I'm not afraid of the competition, and I accept it," Kalou said.
The 34-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has made three appearances for Hertha this season, scoring once.
