Fortuna Düsseldorf still trying to extend Zack Steffen's loan spell
Fortuna Düsseldorf boss Thomas Röttgermann would like to keep Zack Steffen, but knows that it won't be easy.
Fortuna Düsseldorf haven't given up on keeping Zack Steffen for another season, says club CEO Thomas Röttgermann.
The Manchester City loanee is due to return to his parent club at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, but Fortuna remain hopeful that it will possible to extend his loan spell by another season.
"Of course we are trying to sign the player for another season, but we know how difficult it will be," Röttgermann told Bild and added:
"Manchester and Zack would also have to agree to it. And at the moment, we are uncertain about if and when the league will continue and in which league we will play next season."
The goalkeeper has made 18 appearances for Fortuna this season.
