RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano has recently been heavily linked with a switch to Bayern München.

However, according to Sky Germany, the highly-rated centre-back will not be going anywhere at the end of the season.

Instead, Upamecano is understood to have agreed terms on a one-year contract extension until 2022, which contains a release clause that will become active in the summer of 2021.

According to Sky, the 21-year-old believes that a switch this summer would come a little too soon for him.

At the same time, he is convinced that he can take the next step in his development at RB Leipzig.

Upamecano's current deal runs until 2021 and includes a €60 million release clause.
