Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich have raised more than €4 million in battle against corona

Since launching the campaign 'WeKickCorona' in March, Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich have raised more than €4 million for those affected by the coronavirus.
Back in March, Bayern München's Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich launched the initative 'WeKickCorona', paying a total of €1 million out of their own pockets to help those affected by the coronavirus.

Since then, the campaign has received donations of more than €4 million, with the likes of Hansi Flick, Leroy Sané and Mats Hummels being among the contributors.

In an interview on Bayern München's website, Goretzka and Kimmich explain that they invest a lot of time in the project and often sit at home on their laptops after training sessions.

"It was important for us not just to say: there's the money, distribute it," Kimmich said about the campaign in an interview with Bayern München's website.

"We wanted to decide for ourselves where the donations would go," added Goretzka.
