Julian Nagelsmann: 'These nine games are like the Euros, and we want to win them!'

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann will be heading into the remaining part of the Bundesliga season with the ambition of winning every game.
RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann sees the remainder of the Bundesliga season as a separate tournament, which can be compared to the European Championship.

"The whole situation is like before a tournament. We have had a short break followed by a relaxed build-up and a more sharp preparation. These nine games are like the Euros, and we want to win them," Nagelsmann told Kicker.

With nine games left to play ahead of Saturday's Bundesliga restart, RB Leipzig sit third in the table, five points behind league leaders Bayern München.

And while Nagelsmann sees Bayern as favorites to win the Bundesliga for the eighth time in a row, he will do everything he can to dethrone the reigning German champions.

"If Bayern are in top shape, they usually win the championship, especially with this lead. Nevertheless, we'll still be trying to win this nine-game tournament to have the theoretical possibility of finishing up top," he said.
